uSens Makes its Color Fingo Virtual and Augmented Reality Tracking Kit Available for Pre-Order
Platform, hardware and content makers can now benefit from industry’s most innovative technology for creating natural ARVR experiences
SAN JOSE, Calif., November 1, 2016 – uSens, Inc., a pioneer in developing natural hand-and-head tracking technologies for Augmented and Virtual Reality, is making its Color Fingo tracking device available for pre-order by Head-Mounted Display (HMD) and other hardware, platform, and content makers. uSens is exhibiting its cutting-edge “inside-out” tracking technologies at the Unity Unite 2016 event booth 19 in Los Angeles today through November 3.
With two RGB cameras and aided by a 9 axis motion sensor, Color Fingo brings advanced inside-out 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) positional tracking —without requiring external markers— as an add-on device to existing VR platforms using SLAM fusion algorithms. Not only that, uSens’ computer vision technology in Color Fingo enables video see-through augmented reality that transforms a “pure VR” system into an AR and VR system. The combination of these features merges AR and VR into a fluid continuum where developers can build experiences that seamlessly transition between augmented and virtual reality, combining the best of both worlds while maintaining the critical feeling of true presence.

The recently debuted uSens Fingo series of comprehensive developer kits has three Fingo modules — Entry-Level, Color and Power— offering advanced 3D human-computer interaction capability for both mobile and tethered systems, including Samsung Gear VR™, HTC Vive™, Oculus Rift™, and Google Cardboard™. By attaching a Fingo module to the front of an HMD, end users can enjoy their favorite apps without major sacrifices to system power consumption or performance – even on mobile.
